2015 has seen many positive changes and innovations at London Holistic Dental Centre, all to enhance services offered to our clients. We look back over the year with pride and gratitude. So what have we been doing?
Most apparent have been the changes in building and decorating work, somewhat challenging whilst keeping the practice open. We thank our clients for their patience whilst the work was in progress.
We are delighted that we have passed our Care Quality Commission’s inspection with flying colours, despite the challenges they have thrown our way, and we hope it gives assurance to the users of our service.
We are very much aware of the external economic climate so we have launched membership and corporate schemes to help spread the costs of dental care, with the additional benefit of accident insurance too. We are certain that this will lead to better long-term health for our clients.
The upgrade to a newer digital x-ray sensor with higher resolution and lower exposure to rays, has made for a much improved diagnostic process and therefore better treatment. In addition, Lynn Rae is now offering muscle release and TMJ massage, a real boon for TMD sufferers, jaw clenchers and those who grind their teeth. We hope clients will take this up because massage can be is hugely beneficial with these oftentimes stress-related conditions.
Our principal dentist David Cook has completed a 3-year orthodontic mini-residency, part of our investment in continuing education for the best possible, most up-to-date care.
There have been some changes for staff too. Kylie, long serving and valued assistant left to have a baby boy. Her absence is felt by all and we hope she can return part-time late next year. Kylie’s replacement Paige, a young and enthusiastic member of the team is settling in well and enjoying meeting everyone. Crucially, we have undergone training for all in customer care and safety, our trainer for medical emergencies commenting on how easy it was to train us, as we were already up to speed!
Before looking to the coming year, we’d like to say a big THANK YOU to you, our clients, and to especially thank you for the great way you have recommended us to your friends, family and colleagues.
For 2016 our plans include introducing a digital scanner to take impressions in a much more pleasant way (no more trays of goo in the mouth!), and we will be very glad to bring in a new heating system that will reduce the excess heat in the building.
Lastly, the reach of London Holistic extends beyond our own doors, and you may like to know that we engage both with local schools dispensing oral care and health advice to young people, and our own Laune is involved in charity fundraising activities year-round. We think it is important to pass on the dental equipment we cease to use or have replaced to a charity that services the equipment and ships for use in the developing world. We also make to donations to Crisis and Shelter annually.
So, we are relying of you, our generous clients and friends to keep spreading the word to those you know about our services, and for our part, we will continue to invest in better equipment, materials and training and engaging with everyone much more digitally, on social media and with the information we send out. Ultimately, we want to drive forward with preventative programs and hygiene to protect patients’ long term health.
We hope, like us, that you are looking forward to the New Year and have made plans of your own. We would like to wish you all a happy close to 2015 and a healthy and prosperous 2016!
